On Thursday, 14 May, 2026, Daniel Holder, CAJ and co-convener of the Equality Coalition, Kellie Turtle, UNISON and chair of the Anti-Poverty Strategy Group, and Becca Bor, NIAPN, gave evidence to the Committee for Communities on our response to the Anti-Poverty Strategy summary of public consultation report.
In preparation to the meeting, we submitted the following briefing highlighting the background of the engagement of civil society with the department regarding the Anti-Poverty Strategy, our views on the Summary of the Public Consultation, and key priorities for the way forward.
Immediately before presenting to the Committee for Communities, Minister Gordon Lyons updated the committee on the progress up to date on the Anti-Poverty Strategy and a timeline for publication. His comments on the Anti-Poverty Strategy begin at 1.38.12 of the committee meeting.
Our evidence begins at 2.05.00 of the committee meeting.
